About Michael Harris II

Michael Harris II is a professional baseball center fielder for the MLB team, the Atlanta Braves. Born in Decatur, Georgia, Michael grew up near Turner Field and dreamed of playing for the Braves since childhood. He attended Stockbridge High School in Stockbridge, Georgia, where he excelled both as a pitcher and a hitter. Michael committed to Texas Tech University.

Michael is married to his wife, Esther, and comes from a family with a strong baseball/softball background. His father, Michael Sr., played college baseball at Alcorn State and was inducted in Alcorn State baseball Hall of Fame, his mother, LaTaucha played recreational softball in her earlier years. Michael has one sibling, a sister, Mikaylah who played t-ball/softball at an early age, and most recently played at Miles College as a pitcher before graduating.

Drafted out of high school by the Atlanta Braves in the third round of the 2019 MLB draft, Michael began his professional career with the Gulf Coast Braves and later played for the Rome Braves and Mississippi Braves. Despite the cancellation of the 2020 Minor League Baseball season due to COVID-19, Michael continued to develop his skills and was invited to the Braves' spring training in 2021. He made his MLB debut on May 28, 2022, against the Miami Marlins and won the National League Rookie of the Year Award that same year.

In addition to his baseball career, Michael formed M2 Blueprint, LLC in 2019 and collaborated with Yakie's Grand Daughter, to develop the Michael Harris II Collection of apparel. He also launched the Catch 23 Foundation, Inc. in 2022 to support various charitable causes.

Off the field, Michael has also been active in community outreach programs, using his platform to inspire young athletes and give back to the community that nurtured his dreams.
